Can I Become A Scuba Diver?
- Yes, if you are 10 years of age or older.
- Yes, if you can swim 200 yards.
- Yes, if you are in good health.
How Do I Become A Certified Diver?
- Take an Open Water Scuba Course (Beginner’s Class)
This course is divided into three parts:
- Classroom: Where you learn about equipment, technique, and proper procedures for safe diving.
- Pool: Using equipment you practice the techniques and skills discussed in the classroom. Here you will gain confidence in your ability to safely use the equipment.
- Open Water Dives: You will complete 4 training dives with your professional PADI instructor at a local dive site, or you can complete your dives on a referral basis in some tropical location.
What's Involved?
- One weekend of classroom and pool and another weekend of training dives.
- Open Water Dives must be completed within 12 months after the completion of the class.
- Kathy’s Scuba teaches Scuba courses all year round.
- Upon successful completion of this course you will earn a PADI Open Water Certification Card.
What Equipment Do I Need?
- You will need a mask, snorkel, boots, and fins.
- These items may be purchased at Kathy’s Scuba.
How Much Does It Cost?
- Classroom and Pool portion: $240… Includes tuition, O/W manual, logbook, dive tables, scuba equipment for pool sessions and pool fees.
- Open water Certification Dives: $150 for all four dives. Includes all scuba equipment (tanks, regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, and weights) needed for participating in the open water dives. We will go to the quarry on 2 days (2 dives each day). Quarry fees and certification fees are also included. Dives may also be completed on any of Kathy’s Scuba dive trips.
